A320 Misaward
Therefore, approximately 90 first
officers have had their lines changed as a result of the re-award. All of these pilots
have been contacted by telephone, and a spreadsheet will be distributed to their T4
mailboxes with the changes and the credit value for each line. A pilot whose old line had
a higher credit than the new line will receive pay and no credit for the difference. A
pilot whose new line has a higher credit than the old line will receive the higher credit.
If you have any questions about this
issue, please contact the Scheduling Committee via the KIT system.

MEC Hotline |

This is MEC Vice
Chairman Bill Archer with the MEC Hotline update for Thursday, November 4. Tonight’s
topics are:
AWA’s Bid Administration department has made the mistake of awarding lines bid by the
IOE check airmen to some of the A320 first officers. Scheduling Committee Chairman Fred
Eccles has been working with the company to fix the problem; and they determined that the
only solution that respects seniority is to re-award the A320 first officers’ lines.
As we reported earlier, the company’s System Board of Adjustment members asked Arbitrator
Sinicropi to reconvene the Board for an additional Executive Session in order to discuss
various aspects of the award and urge the arbitrator to reconsider the decision. As
predicted, the arbitrator refused the company’s request, and accordingly has instructed
the parties to sign the decision and return it to his office.
The full MEC will meet this Friday and Saturday, November 5th and 6th,
with several ALPA national representatives. Attendees from ALPA will include Don Skiados,
director of communications; Ken Cooper, assistant director of Representation; Jerry
Mugerditichian, vice president of Administration; and Phil Comstock, president of the
Wilson Center for Public Research.
Management has informed us that the deadline to sign-up for medical benefits has been
extended to November 29. Therefore, disregard the date of November 26 on the sign-up form.
After discovering that the new literature holders we recently installed near the PHX crew
lounge have a manufacturing defect which has been causing problems in removing the
enclosed documents, we will be removing those holders this week so that they may be
repaired. Once the defect is removed, we will replace the literature holders.
The local council officers have asked me to remind you that the next meeting of the Local
Executive Council is scheduled for 9am to 12noon on Tuesday, November 9 at the MEC office.
The meeting is open to all pilots in good standing. Also on November 9, a Local Council
meeting will be held. You can get together to meet and greet at 6 pm and then the meeting
starts promptly at 7 pm.
Good news about the Fenix Flight. The November-December issue will be mailed out
early next week. Look for it in your home mailbox by the week of November 19.
