Family Awareness
Event

This event will center
around a “chili cook-off”, and consequently will be the primary source of food.
We encourage any member or their spouse that have a great chili recipe, to enter the
contest. Prizes will consist of a $100 dollar first place winner, and a $50 second place
winner. If you intend to enter the contest, please check the Family Awareness Committee
page on the web site at www.awalpa.org, and contact
Sandi Siniaho at the MEC office, as there are specific rules that must be followed in
order to be eligible.

Anyone planning to
attend the social event or compete in the chili cookoff, please RSVP to Sandi Siniaho at
the MEC office by March 6th.

Extra Contractual
Deals

If you want an
enforceable contract you must know and live by the one you have.

That’s it for this
week. The next hotline will be Thursday, February 24. Thanks for listening. And remember,
wear your ALPA pin and green badge as a sign of our solidarity.

  MEC Hotline

Good evening, this is MEC Chairman Roger Cox
with the MEC Hotline update for Thursday, February 17. Tonight’s topics are:

All pilots are reminded to use the revised relief/reserve lines when bidding for bid 164.
The lines previously awarded contained days off that were not in compliance with the
contract. Please direct questions to our Scheduling Committee hotline.

The PBS, Safety, Scheduling, and Grievance committees have new hotline messages on the KIT
System. I encourage all pilots to listen to the hotline update immediately after this one.
Press the (#) key twice at the end of this message in order to return to the main menu.

The next Local Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 14. The time and location
will be announced on next week’s hotline.

The Family Awareness Committee has scheduled another social event for Saturday, March 11,
from 4pm to 7pm, at the Confederate Air Force Hangar located at Falcon Field in Mesa. This
event is for all pilots in good standing and their families members.

Everyone should by now have received a green pin badge to wear with your ALPA pin. Wearing
the badge is a sign you support our efforts to improve our contract. Wear it now and wear
it with pride.

Here is a list of extra contractual deals that should be avoided:
