April 6, 2000 Hotline

Negotiations

Over the last two
months, the negotiations have been going successfully, with much progress. Talks will
resume with the company on Monday, April 11th through the 14th. A status of the
previous negotiations is included in the March issue of Table Talk, which should
arrive in your home mailbox by the end of this week.

I encourage all pilots
to continue keeping abreast of the negotiations via Table Talk and the Negotiating
Committee’s weekly KIT System hotline updates.

Crew Meals

1. If you are in
Phoenix
, use the jetway phone or have Operations call the Sky Chef Dispatcher at OPEX
2933. Tell them the gate number, flight number, and aircraft type. There are always banked
meals, so you should never leave Phoenix without a meal. Sue is working on establishing a
similar number for use in Las Vegas.

2. If you did not
get a meal at an outstation and you are inbound to Phoenix
, notify Operations on your
in-range call that you need a meal. Again, have Operations call the Sky Chef Dispatcher at
OPEX 2933 and have them deliver the meal to your outbound gate and flight. When you call,
you must remember to give them your aircraft type.

3. If you do not get
a meal as scheduled
, call the Food and Beverage Services hotline at OPEX 4177. This
line is answered by a member of the Food and Beverage Services staff Monday through Friday
from 8am to 5pm. Tell them the date, city, and flight number the meal was missed on. If
you call before or after their office hours, you must leave a voicemail with this
information. They may not be able to get you a meal, but timely notification may prevent a
further problem.

4. If you can’t
get to an OPEX line
, ask one of your flight attendants for a Food and Beverage
Irregularity Report. This report is in the PSK and is on the reverse side of the Flight
Attendant Irregularity Report. Fill it out, making sure to indicate that this was a crew
meal problem – not a cabin meal problem – and co-mail it to T4-CAT. This is the old
catering co-mail address.

Providing timely
feedback to the company will help to improve our crew meal situation. However, in addition
to the above steps, you should still inform Jerry Hargis by completing the ALPA Crew Meal
Comment Forms and dropping them in the ALPA box at the Phoenix crew lounge. Unless we also
know about the problems you are experiencing, we can’t do anything to help correct
them.

For your convenience,
this information will be included on the Crew Meals page on the MEC web site at
www.awalpa.org.

Local Council
Meeting

That’s it for this
week. The next hotline will be Thursday, April 13. Thanks for listening. And remember,
wear your ALPA pin and green badge.

  MEC Hotline

Good evening, this is MEC Chairman Roger Cox
with the MEC Hotline update for Thursday, April 6. Tonight’s topics are:

It is with regret that I announce that Capt. Doug Dotter is no longer an active member of
the negotiating team. The MEC values Capt. Dotter’s contributions to the negotiations
efforts, and we have asked that he continue to provide his input throughout the course of
our negotiations.

In an effort to give pilots additional exposure and experience with the PBS system,
America West has agreed to do a second run of the 165 parallel bid for A320 pilots. Please
listen to the PBS Committee’s KIT System hotline update for dates and details. The
PBS hotline also contains information about recent compuserve connection problems.

Jerry Hargis, chairman of the Crew Meals Committee, and Sue Brettenhausen, AWA’s
director of Food and Beverage Services, have provided the following list of steps pilots
should begin using in the event of problems with crew meals on your flights.

The next Local Council meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 11th, at 6pm,
at the Doubletree Hotel. All pilots in good standing are encouraged to attend.
