The MEC feels this is a significant achievement by the Negotiating Committee, which
will help us to achieve our ultimate goal of negotiating a full retirement package for the
entire pilot group.

Details of this agreement are forthcoming in a Just the Facts, which will be

  MEC Hotline

Good evening, this is
MEC Chairman Roger Cox with the hotline message for Thursday, June 15th. Tonight’s
topics are:

The Negotiating Committee has reached an agreement with the company that will continue the
monthly retirement supplement for retiring pilots, retroactive to May 1, 2000. Under this
agreement, a limited “D” reserve will also be added. This is an interim
agreement which is renewable in 90-day increments after December 31 of this year.

The MEC has passed a resolution approving the FOQA side letter of agreement. This side
letter assures all pilots anonymity and freedom from disciplinary action, as long as we do
our jobs in compliance with the FOMs and FARs. An informational brochure has gone to your
boxes and road shows are planned.

On Tuesday, the MEC appointed new chairmen of the Strategic Planning and Family Awareness
committees. Alan Crawford was named SPC chairman and Tim Walters was named chairman of
Family Awareness. The MEC appreciates all of the hard work and effort put in by both Scott
Lillard and Frank Helton, who formerly led these committees, respectively. We look forward
to their continued support throughout the course of our contract negotiations.

Each month, several of our pilots are placed on our arrears lists due to late dues
payments. If you are one of these pilots, you can avoid being placed on the list by just
signing up for dues checkoff, and having your dues payments automatically deducted from
your paychecks. It’s a simple solution that will save you time each month. In
addition, the MEC has asked all committee volunteers to be on DCO. So do yourself a favor,
sign up for dues checkoff.

The next local council meeting is set for July 11 at 6pm at the Doubletree Hotel. All
pilots in good standing are encouraged to attend.
