Negotiating Committee Hotline and
Table Talk

In the meantime, the August 26th
issue of Table Talk, the official newsletter of the Negotiating Committee, was mailed from
the Herndon print shop today. Look for it in your home mailbox. Included with the
newsletter is a copy of “50 Questions about the Railway Labor Act Procedures.”
Each of these documents should be added to your Contract 2000 binder.

Wilson Center Polling

Also, if we do not have your current
phone number, please call the MEC office with your update.

Family Awareness Social Event

Pilots planning to attend must RSVP by
calling Sandi at the MEC office no later than October 6.

New MEC Officers to Begin Terms

I’d like to personally welcome our
incoming MEC officers. We anticipate a smooth transition for the new leadership and have
every confidence that Roger, Bill and Mike will lead this pilot group successfully into
Contract 2000 negotiations and beyond.

That concludes this week’s
hotline. The next scheduled hotline update will be Thursday, September 2. Thanks for
listening.

There will be a special PHX Council 62 Local Council meeting tonight, Thursday, August 26
at the Doubletree Hotel, 44th Street and Van Buren in Phoenix. The meeting will
be held from 5pm to 8pm, followed by a reception from 8pm to 10pm. Featured guests will be
ALPA President Duane Woerth, Vice-President of Administration Jerry Mugerditchian, and
Executive Vice President Cress Bernard. In addition to a report from President Woerth, the
agenda will focus on comments from our outgoing MEC officers and an introduction to our
newly elected MEC officers. All will be on hand for Q and A during the meeting and the
reception to follow. This is an open meeting: all members in good standing and spouses are
welcome.

The Negotiating Committee has established a new KIT System hotline. The hotline is updated
every Tuesday with updates and news about the upcoming negotiations, committee activities,
and rumor control. All pilots are encouraged to utilize this new hotline as another method
of keeping informed about Contract 2000.

As part of preparations for Contract 2000 negotiations, Wilson Center telephone polling
will resume in September. When the Wilson Center calls, remember that the pollster is an
official representative of the MEC. The information you provide will be a direct link
between you and the MEC and Negotiating Committee as we continue preparations for Contract
2000 negotiations. Please take the time to complete the poll.

All members in good standing and their families are invited to our second Family Awareness
get-together on October 13 from 5pm to 9pm, at the Confederate Air Force Hangar at Mesa
Falcon Field. Refreshments will be served, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, and bratwurst.
Admission is free to all pilots and their families.

MEC Chairman-elect Roger Cox, Vice Chairman-elect Bill Archer, and Mike Calabrese, who was
re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer, will officially begin their two-year terms on
Wednesday, September 1st. The terms of current MEC Chairman Don Steinman and
Vice Chairman Darcy Pierce will end on August 31st.
