| This is MEC Chairman Roger Cox with the MEC hotline for Thursday, September 2, 1999. Tonight’s topics are: MEC Vice Chairman Bill Archer and I have joined Secretary-Treasurer Mike Calabrese as your new MEC officers. Our two-year terms officially began yesterday, September 1. For those of you not familiar with our structure, we MEC officers are elected by your Local Council Representatives and have executive responsibility for day to day running of our offices as well as providing coordination and leadership for all our efforts. When the four status representatives sit in session with us we are then considered the full MEC. Although this may seem confusing, it is part of the special democratic heritage of ALPA and conforms to the Constitution and By Laws of our Association.
