� The governing body of the America West pilots� union, a unit
of the Air Line Pilots Association, Wednesday elected officers who will begin
two-year terms effective

Captain Roger Cox, who flies
the B757 and is a 14-year veteran of the airline, was re-elected as the America
West pilots� Master Executive Council (MEC) chairman. B757 First Officer

�The coming months will be
critical to the America West pilots as we continue to negotiate a new contract
with our management,� said Capt. Cox. �The two newly elected MEC officers
and I are committed to helping our pilots achieve a contract that recognizes
the sacrifices we made in our first working agreement to help our airline
