America West pilots voted to ratify the three scheduling side letters of
agreement by a margin of 54 percent. Three hundred ninety pilots voted in favor of the
side letters; 328 pilots voted against. Again, the side letters passed by 54 percent.

The pilot group has officially ratified the side letters in
a balloted election. We still await official notification from management as to their
intentions.

In the ballot count for MEC Chairman, Capt. Don Steinman
has been re-elected for the term commencing March 1st with 452 votes or 75 percent. First
Officer Darcy Pierce remains MEC Vice Chairman with 146 votes.

Local Council Meeting
Our next local council meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. Note that this meeting
will be at a new location: the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel on Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe.
All members in good standing are welcome to attend.

KIT System Updates
Several MEC committees have updated their hotline messages on this Keep-In-Touch phone
system, including the Central Air Safety and Jumpseat committees. For more detailed
information, please listen to these committee updates. Additionally, you may now leave a
message for the Communications Committee on the system.

President’s Day
The MEC office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16 in observance of the President’s Day
holiday.
