Company to sign side letters
Greg Garger, Vice President of Labor Relations, provided official notification to the MEC
this afternoon that the company will sign the three scheduling side letters ratified by
the pilot group this week. The closing paragraph of each side letter will be updated to
reflect its status as a permanent change to the contract.

AWA extends jumpseat privileges
In an effort spearheaded by Jumpseat Committee Chairman Captain Marty Quick, America West
has agreed to extend jumpseat privileges to Western Pacific flight crews for sixty days.

There is important new information on the Central Air Safety update, and note that this
message will be updated each Thursday. Also note that you may now contact the
Communications Committee via the KIT system.

Local Council meeting
Our next local council meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. Note that this meeting
is on Tuesday, not the traditional Wednesday, and is at a new location: the Tempe Mission
Palms Hotel on Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe.

President’s Day office closure
And a reminder: the MEC office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16 in observance of the
President’s Day holiday. The next scheduled hotline update will be Thursday, Feb. 19.
