PBS Road Shows
Road shows will continue next week on the PBS side letters. On Monday August 17th the
presentation will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Terminal 4 Conference Room 1, just east of the
food court next to the art gallery. On Friday August 21st the presentation will be at the
Doubletree Hotel, 320 N44th St, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A presentation will also be made
at our local council meeting on August 24th, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Doubletree. In
response to your requests for additional information and clarification, we will distribute
answers to key questions in written form next week. In addition, a PBS committee member
will be available in the pilot lounge to answer questions and demonstrate the bid
interface software over the next few weeks.

We understand that aspects of the agreement are
controversial. Please take the time to attend a road show and have all of your questions
answered thoroughly for this important decision.

ALPA Board Approves Council 62 Restructuring
The ALPA (Board of Directors) BOD overwhelmingly approved our proposed amendments to the
Constitution and By-Laws, with over 99 percent of the ballots cast in favor of the changes
in a ballot count on Monday.

The constitutional amendments will result in significant
changes to the way your MEC is structured. This fall, we will elect two LEC captain
representatives, two LEC first officer representatives, and one LEC secretary-treasurer.
The newly elected representatives will take office on March 1st and serve two-year terms.
These four elected representatives will serve as MEC members in addition to the current
MEC officers whose terms as MEC chairman, MEC vice-chairman, and MEC secretary-treasurer
continue until August 31st of next year.

Information on the upcoming elections, including a
timetable, will be detailed in the upcoming edition of Fenix Flight magazine.

Upcoming Arbitration Hearings
We have a number of important arbitration hearings scheduled between now and the end of
the year. They will be held almost monthly, and represent our “day in court” on
a number of key contract disputes, many of which have been unresolved for three years. The
first, on disability, workers compensation, and longevity and other benefits issues, is
scheduled on August 25th and 26th. Look for additional information on time and place in
next week’s hotline.

The next scheduled hotline will be Thursday, August 20th.
Stay focused, fly safe, fly the contract and thanks for listening.
