FAST is a shareholder of America West and is concerned about the
company’s rejection of UAL Corporation’s proposal to acquire America West.
“We simply want to communicate with America West
shareholders about their views concerning entering into a transaction which would be in
the best interests of shareholders, customers and employees,” Fiedler said.

| The Food and Allied Service Trades Department, AFL-CIO (FAST) announced that it has made a demand under Delaware law of the America West Board of Directors to inspect and copy the company’s current list of shareholders. In his letter to the Board of America West Holdings Corporation, FAST President Jeffrey L. Fiedler stated that FAST intends to communicate with company shareholders concerning mergers and acquisitions involving the company. |
